Jun 2014Buffalo Ridge PGA (formerly Branson Creek) Golf Course has been rated the Number One Public Course in Missouri by Golf Magazine and continues to be named one of many Top 10 Missouri Courses by Golf Digest for 11 consecutive years. The course holds a Golf Digest rating of 4.5 stars out of 5. Designed by golf course architect Tom Fazio, the course includes a challenging layout, etched in the Ozarks landscape with outstanding views.
Buffalo Ridge in Branson was purchased in 2013 by Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops and also since that time the course has undergone extensive re-design with Fazio’s team in preparation for hosting the 2014 PGA Champions Tour. The Big Cedar Legends of Golf Tournament is going to be played at Buffalo Ridge each and every year during the first week of June through the year 2018. In this inaugural year the tournament is going to be played in in conjunction with a second nearby Big Cedar course, Top of the Rock . Top of the Rock is a 9 hole par3 course and Buffalo Ridge Golf Course in Branson plays nearly 7,000 yards through the back tees hence the variation in challenges must be entertaining to observe over the course of the tournament. The tournament will feature legendary golf icons like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nickalaus, Gary Player, Lee Tervino, Greg Norman, Fuzzy Zoeller and Chi Chi Rodriguez in order to name a few. The format is often a two-man scramble while you mix that along with the partial par 3 format, television viewers really should have an entertaining show. It’s its not all fun and games At Buffalo Ridge however as Bass Pro is bringing over $2.5 million in prize money to the tournament to hold these legends devoted to the game.
Buffalo Ridge is schedule to open towards the public following tournament, but we’re certain Johnny Morris won’t be happy with the recent improvements and will most likely carry on and work on and improve this already fantastic golf cour
