This example suggests that BYL719 traditionally obtained very low frequency components in the R-R interval spectra from 5 min epochs will depend strongly on the used detrending procedures. It might even be speculated that such components do not exist in some cases, provided adequate detrending was applied. Conversely, much longer signal epochs should be analyzed for proper assessment and understanding of the very low spectral frequencies.
5. Conclusions
The analytical derivations and the results obtained by the developed computational procedure with synthesized and real signals show aorta the proposed method provides accurate assessment and processing of signals containing trend and periodic components. This method is relevant for second-order polynomial detrending of various biomedical and other types of signals. Moreover, due to the additional possibility for revealing and assessing signal periodicity, the method and the developed computational procedure are especially appropriate for processing of signals further subjected to spectral analysis.
